Luck, My Beloved began as a dream.
What started as a wish for having older compositions be professionally recorded and performed, blossomed into an exploration of creativity, self-expression, and a desire for authenticity.
To achieve this goal, I called upon old musician friends of mine who shared that same spirit; Rosy Zhang, currently the principal cellist for the North York Concert Orchestra; and Erick Oliver Wawrzkiewicz, a freelance Polish Brazilian violinist based in Toronto. I have collaborated with them before in the past during my university days, and I'm excited to have them join me in this experience.
I am also excited to collaborate once again with visual artist avyary for the album art, and getting Colton Maddigan from Chalet Recording Studio to record the sessions for us. The entire recording process was captured on video by Kasumi Kobo. Last but not least, Pouya Hamidi, whom I worked with last for the "A Day to Remember" project, lends his talents for the mastering of this project. I hope this album will invigorate you and redefine what it means to experience contemporary classical music.
